Samuel Ishie
Chief Technology Officer/ Partner Africa
Samuel Ishie is the Chief Technology Officer for Africa at Nina Jojer Africa (NJA), where he leads the development and execution of the firm's technology strategy across the region. A solutions architect and technology executive with over 15 years of experience, Samuel sits at the centre of NJA's technical delivery capability — translating complex integration challenges into scalable, impactful platforms that connect mobile infrastructure with the real economy.
"Samuel led the technical integration between AXA Mansard and Airtel Nigeria that launched an embedded health insurance product — delivering affordable healthcare access to millions of Nigerians through the mobile network."
His signature contribution at NJA is the design and oversight of the firm's API Hub — an enterprise connectivity platform that enables seamless interoperability between mobile network operators and downstream sectors including banking, insurance, healthcare, and education. This infrastructure forms the technical backbone through which NJA delivers digital transformation mandates for its clients, and represents one of the most sophisticated multi-sector integration architectures in operation across West Africa.
Samuel holds an MSc in Information Systems Management from the University of Liverpool and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Lagos. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) — credentials that reflect both the breadth of his technical knowledge and the rigour with which he approaches delivery. Prior to NJA, he served as lead architect and technology manager at 2AM Tech, Emerald Solutions Services, and Premium Health Limited, accumulating deep experience across software development, enterprise architecture, and IT management.
Samuel's most recognised achievement is his role in architecting the middleware and systems integration that enabled AXA Mansard and Airtel Nigeria to launch a first-of-its-kind embedded health insurance product distributed entirely through the mobile network. This initiative extended formal healthcare coverage to a previously unserved subscriber base and demonstrated the transformative potential of mobile-to-sector integration as a vehicle for financial and social inclusion.
A collaborative and analytically rigorous leader, Samuel is driven by a fundamental conviction that technology is among the most powerful instruments available for improving quality of life across Africa. He combines a systems-thinker's appetite for complexity with the pragmatism of a seasoned delivery executive — making him a trusted partner for clients navigating the technical frontiers of Africa's digital decade.
